We are excited to hear of developments in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the work they are doing to combat firearm trafficking. After the disappointing and glaring absence of a “One Gun a Month” provision in the Massachusetts gun reform legislation to prevent bulk purchases of weapons, B-PEACE is continuing to look into ways to help prevent gun trafficking. One measure is to ensure that data collection on crime guns takes place and the information is both accessible and available to researchers and law enforcement officials. Check out our Gun Reform page to learn more, or contact christine@ststephensbos.org to find out how you can help with some of our initiatives in this area.
